St. Catharines, ON (September 3, 2024) Canada’s biggest wine festival just keeps growing! The addition of a just-announced Montebello Park concert featuring Canadian music icons Kim Mitchell and Crash Test Dummies and the highly anticipated return of Event In The Tent brings the September festival’s roster of programming up to 13 days of fun across Niagara.

Event In the Tent returns after almost two decades on Friday, September 20, from 7 p.m. to midnight with rocking music by Nik and the Nice Guys, wine, beer, food trucks, and a new community-focused twist. Proceeds from Event In The Tent festivities, which will take place in downtown St. Catharines behind Brock University’s Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, will support Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.

“For years, Event In The Tent served as this incredible homecoming hub for Niagara that encouraged and celebrated connection among community members in such a fun way. In our work, we are reminded every day just how important having a strong sense of community is, so Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold is absolutely thrilled to be participating in Event In The Tent’s return!” said Betty Lou Souter, Chief Executive Officer of Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.

The following week, on Thursday, September 26, a concert featuring both Kim Mitchell  and the Crash Test Dummies will add an extra day to this year’s supersized weekend of Montebello Park fun. Proceeds from concert tickets, just $10 when purchased in advance or $15 when purchased on-site, will also support Community Care. Concertgoers will be able to purchase delicious snacks and sips from 20 different food vendors and 24 Niagara wineries. Those who prefer to enjoy their live music with comfortable seating areas, VIP bathrooms, and more premium VQA wine selections can purchase $25 Harvest Lounge concert tickets, which will offer great views of the stage.

“With three weekends of Discovery Pass touring at 28 different Niagara wineries, the return of Event In The Tent, two incredible parades, and four jam-packed days of wine, food, music, and fun at Montebello Park, which includes a new Celebration Sunday featuring international music and food, this September’s Niagara Grape & Wine Festival really does offer something for everyone. We can’t wait to welcome back returning Grape and Wine alumni, and we’re equally excited to showcase harvest season in Niagara to those experiencing it for the first time,” said Niagara Grape & Wine Festival Executive Director Dorian Anderson.

In addition to ongoing support from presenting partners and local champions, including the City of St. Catharines, the Grape Growers of Ontario, and the Wine Marketing Association of Ontario, new funding partners this year have allowed Niagara Grape & Wine Festival to expand its programming. The Government of Ontario’s Experience Ontario grant program is helping fund the Kim Mitchell and Crash Test Dummies concerts. A more extensive selection of Niagara winery and culinary partners are participating in this year’s Festival thanks to generous support from Niagara College.
