What we're doing and how you can help!

Ways to Support Community Care during the month of May…

  1. Please give- The community can make a monetary donation online through our personalized Every Plate Full portal here:
  2. Awareness-Community Care will be connecting with local elementary schools to engage students in an activity based awareness campaign. The students will take part in a dialogue surrounding hunger and poverty and be asked to fill an empty paper plate by drawing what they feel every person should eat to be healthy and happy. We will pose the question to students…How do we keep every plate full?
  3. Social Media & Web Dialogue- We will engage local dignitaries and people of our community to pose for photos in our hopes to create dialogue around hunger and poverty in St. Catharines & Thorold. These photos will be posted on our social media sites and website. #HungerLivesHere.
  4. Food Drive, Fill the bag. Feel good- At the 11th Annual Rankin Cancer Run Food Drive we are asking the community and run participants to fill the brown bag handed out to them at registration AND we ask spectators and supporters to fill any bag with a non-perishable donation and bring it with them on run day, May 28th, where Community Care will be onsite collecting!

“By supporting Every Plate Full you will have an immediate impact on the well being of your community. Your contribution will help Community Care continue to provide for the 1,850 individuals and families utilizing our food security program each month and of that almost 40% of these users are children.” Betty-Lou Souter, CEO for Community Care, St. Catharines and Thorold.
