For Alectra, Wyse, Metergy, or alternative fuels

If you’re behind on your Alectra, WYSE, or METERGY bill, and are facing a disconnection, or need help with alternative heating, you may qualify for one-time emergency financial help through the LEAP or the NEEF programs. Funding is available to the account holder and eligibility depends on household income and size. Applications are approved on a first come, first serve basis, and funding may be limited and at the discretion of our funders.

 To apply, complete an application form along with copies of the following four document requirements:

  1. Identification of all household members
  2. A copy of your current utility bill plus any disconnection notices
  3. A copy of a rental contract, lease or mortgage documents
  4. Proof of income for all adults in the house, for example, a pay stub, an ODSP or OW statement, employment letter, income tax return, or a copy of recent bank statements

Enbridge or Hydro One Utility Assistance

If you’re an Enbridge or Hydro One customer, the application begins with the United Way Simcoe Muskoka, the agency that administers those utility’s LEAP programs.

Call them 1-855-487-5327

. You can choose to start and finish the application with United Way, OR you have the option of asking them to email your application to us at Community Care if you need our assistance.
If you choose to have the application sent to Community Care, we’ll receive your application via email and then work with you on the arrangements to sign it and gather documents, which we’ll send to them on your behalf.

Ontario Electricity Support Program

The Ontario Electricity Support Program, or OESP, is an OEB program that lowers electricity bills for qualifying lower income households in the form of a monthly credit on your bill. Eligibility depends on household income and size and is available to the account holder. You can apply online or renew your application at www.ontarioelectricitysupport.ca

If you need assistance applying for the first time or renewing your OESP application, our program staff can submit the application on your behalf. 

To apply, complete an application form along with copies of the following four document requirements and email them to energy@communitycarestca.ca
