'Fill the Bag, Feel Good' Virtual Food Drive

We may not be able to "Meridian Grande Parade" together this year for Grape and Wine, but we can bubble up and celebrate! Join Community Care in helping our community's most vulnerable and making sure our neighbours are going to bed with full tummies and a roof over their head.

If you are planning to host your own celebrations for Grape and Wine this year, we'd love for you to consider also hosting your own Virtual Food Drive to help our community at the same time! Walking in the Grande Parade each year has been a significant fundraiser supporting Food Security in St. Catharines and we are asking you to keep the tradition going, even if it looks a little different. We can provide you all the tools; social media and posters to share the message with your friends, barrels to collect goods in walk-by food drives and even your own fundraising page to help out the cause.

This Fill the Bag, Feel Good Virtual Food Drive comes at a critical time when the agency has been searching for alternative ways to raise funds in the time of physical distancing and cancelled in-person events. The need for Community Care services has never been greater. This is a great way for the community to participate in a fun event in your own social circle, while supporting Community Care and filling the tummies of neighbours in need.

“We rely heavily on fundraising initiatives to deliver our programs and services at Community Care. Since the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions have been put in place, we have seen the cancellation of over 25 events which were projected to bring in UPWARDS OF $400,000 in much needed funds for the organization." Betty-Lou Souter, CEO Community Care of St. Catharines & Thorold.
